I took the bill back to the bank where the alert bank manager took one look at the bill and said, “It’s movie money.”
As you can see from the photo, it’s obvious. it clearly says “Motion Picture Purposes” in multiple places and the serial number begins with “MP”. And the motto on the back says, “In Props We Trust”.

Love it! That’s been an exciting journey to follow 🙂 How did you feel when he pointed out the obvious?
I laughed. I showed it to three tellers at two banks and none of them notice either!
One of the tellers even marked the bill with a pen (a standard method of detecting fake bills with the more modern notes).
😆
What a great conclusion to your tale! So funny that no one else saw those great big letters on it.
Prop masters have gotten in trouble for making movie money that looks too close to real. On the other hand, directors don’t want movie money that looks too fake: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IEtTgC0shXw
Fascinating video. My prop money was two-sided and the same size as actual money so it violated two Secret Service rules.
